Locked to BLU Sniper until lights go back on. prpl_assistant October 20 2011, 04:20:41 UTC
((OOC: A continuation of this.))

(NOW what was happening? Miss Pauling looked around in the dark, alert for anything that could happen. All embarrassment and awkwardness from the dance was gone. She mutters to the BLU Sniper, her voice low but calm.)

Sniper. I think we should get out of he-

(And that's when the couple standing nearby gets hit by a water balloon.)

What!?

(And there's another one that nearly gets her too, if she hadn't moved forward a few steps.)

What th'....

*Instinctively he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her against him protectively.*

Th' bloody hell?

*He hasn't been hit but he can hear them. However he can't identify the sound. There's some yelling and splashing and people bumping into each other.*

This way.

*He pulled her with him back towards the table, his other hand going for the knife in his jacket pocket.*

(She's just letting him pull her along. Her mind is a bit too preoccupied with the chaos around that it slips her that he had just pulled her against him. In another time, she would've fainted from the embarrassment. But now? Now was the time to get somewhere safe. She regrets leaving her revolver in her purse near the punch table; she might actually need it now.)

Sniper, the punch table. I have a gun in my purse, but I left it there.

(She hopes he can hear her through the chaos, but she dare not raise her voice, in case they attract unnecessary attention.)

Roight. That's... over here.

*He can't see anything, but if he can track a deer through the brush at night and with no wind, he could find a table laden with punch that smelled like turpentine. He's still keeping his grip on her, if she gets away somehow he might not be able to find her again.*

Knew I should have brought my gun.

Good. We can take cover under the table too, at least until we figure out what's-

(And cue lots of people pushing around. One of them accidentally shoves against the both of them violently, and Miss Pauling slipped past the Sniper's grasp and they both get separated in the crowd.)

Sniper?

(She can't see anything in this dark, what with people jostling and screaming all around her. She raises her voice slightly louder; she's not afraid, but it would be easier for her to find the punch table again if she's with him.)

Sniper!!

Bloody hell....

*Well great. He had already managed to lose her, and he was still nowhere near the punch table. Also people kept smacking into his legs and nearly knocking him over which he really didn't appreciate. The person he elbowed in the face in retaliation most likely didn't appreciate it either.*

Miss Pauling?

*Okay, he can hear her, but his eyes still haven't adjusted to the darkness. And then one of those smaller people at the party crashes full into his legs sending Sniper sprawling onto the ground.*

(Well, this was bad. She still didn't know where he was, and people were getting wet and shouting everywhere. However, she thought she over-heard him somewhere to her left though, and quickly turned to that direction.)

Snipe-

(And that's when someone fully smashes right into her and knocks her to the ground accidentally.)

Umph!

(Wow, that hurts. A lot. She just smacked the back of her head on the floor. Ow.)

*Crap.*

Beggin' yer pardon..

*He's tangled in .. something. Probably the tablecloth from the punch table. And then the lights come back on, and who he smashed into becomes uncomfortably clear.*

urk....

(Just as she managed to blink the stars out of eyes, the lights switch back on. It's blocked by a figure that's lying right on top of her though. A figure that starts to come slowly into focus as her eyes readjust to the light again...

...Oh.)

Oh. My. God.

(Yes, the Sniper and Miss Pauling are in a very interesting position. Feel free to make a comment from this point onwards on how close they are. Feel free to take pictures.)

*He scrambles away from her as if she was on fire. Falling over several times in the process and almost knocking over the table with the punch on it. Fortunately there's still so much chaos around from the waterballoons that not many people have noticed.

Well there goes any semblance of him having a good evening.*

(She's just...going to continue staring at him now. At least she's managed to sit herself up, but there's this part of her brain that has shut down for the moment. Even in the middle of everyone shouting and pushing around, she's just going to remain on the floor, because maybe, just maybe whatever happened was just a bad dream brought on by the spiked punch. And her head still hurts. So, when it throbs again, she winces and rubs the spot which collided against the floor.)

*He's staring right back at her, until he decides that sitting on the floor is probably not the best idea since people are still running around and tripping over him. He slowly gets to his feet and dusts himself off.

Taking a deep breath he approaches her and offers a hand to help her up.*

(She's just going to...take his hand and get up. Yeap. Because people are panicking and pushing and yelling all around her, and there's a chance someone might just step on her or something.

After she's up, she's going to brush the dust off her dress. Her mind is running fully on autopilot now. It's just how she's going to deal with this. She's not going to look at the Sniper either, because she's half-afraid to see how angry he's going to be.)

We should.. probably.. uhm... go.

*You know. Somewhere that isn't totally awkward without people running around yelling and kids throwing water balloons. He's way more embarrassed than angry at this point.*

Y-yeah.

(She collects her purse from the chair near the punch table. Before heading off, she does a quick check just to make sure everything's inside, before she walks off with him. Her eyes are carefully kept away from the Sniper; she really, really doesn't know how he's feeling at the moment, and she's afraid she'll trigger something.

As far as she's concerned, Homecoming is over.)

*He trails along behind her. He's not even sure what he's thinking right now. But his brain is not processing what just happened. In fact.. he's going to never bring it up again ever. Why had he agreed to this again?*

.. probably not much for you t' spy on anymore after that.
