On dry land...

...only my inner ear/brain still think I'm at sea, despite two intervening airplane rides (remember when going on a plane was a fun experience?) and a harrowing drive home through an attempted blizzard. (Oh human physiology, you are a laugh riot ( Read more... )

They try to feed you to death

What a wonderful way to go.

while snorkeling, I swam with a school of squid! SQUID! (It was so much cooler than it sounds. Really.)

Squid are delicious, so it sounds delicious.

Really, the food was awesome. Anytime they make me eat duck for lunch and dinner is a good day.

And I don't like to eat squid (that is the hubby's domain) but they are so cool to hang out with. Of course, I was reading Fluke at the time, so that was serendipitous ;)

remember when going on a plane was a fun experience?

I remember when we dressed up to go on the plane. Now people are in their PJ's and fuzzy slippers on the plane. Which considering everything, is probably wise.

They try to feed you to death, but it's still awesome.

Isn't that sort of the point of a cruise. Midnight buffets! Dawn buffets! Chocolate fountains!

Whee! to swimming with squid! Boo! to no rum!

Er, I've been in a cold snap. Let us not speak of it.

The planes used to be, I don't know, bigger than school buses. The seats were wider than the three month old copy of US weekly someone left behind. Sheesh. And do they have to be so damned noisy?

The point of the cruise was to be somewhere NOT -25C. (Of course, you'd know from weather, considering. The food was a bonus. A delicious, caloric bonus. ;)

Yes, when a short person like myself feels squished, what does the rest of humanity do?

A lot of my fellow Alaskans when to warm clims in October/November, but I think now is the better time. When winter has just started to wear you down!

My head actually hit the ceiling of the plan when I stood, and I am not that tall. A lot of the males on board had to duck. Geezuz.

January and February are lethal, so yes, I think nowish is a good time.

Glad you had a good time! It would be surreal to see Christmas decorations being put away in a tropical clime. Halloween is likewise kind of strange to see. Autumn leaf decorations in Hawaii? Weird.

Hope the dizzies pass soon. I think a couple of changes in altitude in the plane probably contribute to it. And I agree flying isn't much fun any more. I'm waiting for the transporter to be invented.

Good point. That is also a possibility.

Oh, sing it sister. Transporter psychosis be damned - break me down into my component parts and reassemble me elsewhere (well, replicate me, but you know...)

the worst part of having a a job is missing out on our daily chats ~sigh~ I am glad I thought to get on livejournal today.
Also, it's supposed to snow here tonight and the entire state of Oklahoma is collecting wetting its pants.

Rob and the kids will be home but I will be at work. Why? Because the public must have their liquor!

Hey you. I've still got email, and it still works. Mostly, lj makes me want to stab things with other things. But sometimes there's pretty pictures.

pretty pictures are not to be underestimated.

and I meant to type the word COLLECTIVELY. The curse of Latvimanche strikes again!

I put away over 200 cases of liquor today. And my boss thinks I'm 12.

~eye roll~

I am trying to pm you, but not happening. Oh lj, you were clearly designed by a slightly dyslexic amoeba.
