No escape, no greater fate to be made

One hour to go.

Dear everyone who has told me, or their YouTube followers, or whoever, that the YouTube COPPA thing is nothing to worry about:

There's enough of you by now that I can KIND of take your word for it. But I am going to be SO MAD if you turn out to be wrong and this is the end of YouTube as we know it after all.

youtube, worrying, 2020, tags will come later, apocalypse

But it IS something to worry about. Because, if nothing else, it's already led to a LOT of people already leaving YouTube, making their old videos private, deleting their old channels, etc. And a lot of them have been forced to disable their comment sections (though so far that doesn't apply to most of the channels I wanted to watch). Also the majority of the channels I wanted to watch haven't uploaded anything this decade yet, so I still don't know if they're going to continue uploading or not.

This sums up why I'm still worried about it:

No, it isn't. They will come back when they realize they freaked out about nothing.

Also, in search of as much news about COPPA as possible, I've ALSO come across a bunch of controversies about particular YouTubers that have me worried ( ... )
