Weird how "what was he trying to do?" seems like a such a relevant question.

Does authorial intention matter, or is that the wrong question too?  Because I think this is funny.

It feels like the Vogon poems from Hitchhikker's Guide. And in that way, it feels like he's serious. But it is kindof awesome in a train-wreck sort of fashion.
