I didn't think about Hero. I suppose approached like that, it would be more likely to emulate the game, but chances of that happening are pretty slim. Besides, SotC isn't anywhere near as visually striking as Hero was. It counts more on the lack of visuals to give mood, so if they did it that way, I don't think many non-fans would be interested.

I'm not going to hold my breath for a game movie like that. I think the closest would be all those viral marketing ads we're getting now. Like the MGS4 fake TV ads and the RE5 promos.

Which is why SotC is one of the games that shouldn't be touched.

Shadow of the Colossus, really? I don't recall that having much of any plot :P

Yes, the plot was quite basic and it works in a game, but I don't see how that could be done as a movie. But if they add a lot more plot to the story then it wouldn't really be SotC :P
