The Chapter 8 Conundrum Explained

One of my main frustrations with Doctor Who and the Dawn of the Daleks is how many people stopped reading after Chapter 8. I scoured the chapter again and again for some flaw, some typo, some mistake that would explain why so many stopped at that point.
Now as I see the same thing happening again as I repost the story on FanFiction.net, I think I

And a further data point: it looks like those who leap out of the story at Chapter 7 or 8 tend to hop straight to the end, as the last chapter has as meny hits as eight does.
......
Those of you who have read the last chapter of this story will recall why this probably does not make them very happy.
