Reed did not watch the Daily Show. In fact, he watched very little television (though when Johnny and Ben were not around, he might confess to a small bit of interest in Mythbusters. Purely professional, of course), but he did have numerous tracking programs in place to alert him whenever Doom was mentioned.

When the program finished, he called up the Baxter Building's robotic receptionist, Roberta. "Roberta, when Col. Fury calls, tell him I'll meet with him at his earliest convenience."

"How do you know he'll be calling, Doctor Richards?"

"Oh... Call it a hunch."

"What's unlike who?" asks Johnny on his way in, drawing on his suit jacket.

Among others, both Reed Richards and Doctor Doom had been former students, although Doom had never graduated and actually left in a cloud of scandal. It was this last point that was the focus of the mass of student protestors who had marched tirelessly around campus ( ... )

Empire State has some not-so-famous alumni as well - at least, not famous in the civilian sense. Peter Parker's covering the event for the Bugle, snapping photographs of the protesters and the man of the hour himself.

All the while, mystified by the purpose of the man's visit.

"I...I...I..." stammered Major Ogrovic, eyes wide, sweat beading on his forehead. He took an involuntary step backward, and couldn't prevent his eyes from darting to the door. It was hopeless. Two huge security personnel blocked the way ( ... )
