The button was pressed.
In the background, an innocent soul screamed out as he went through an unholy amount of pain.
Music to this man's ears. For the first time in a long time, something nearing a smile approached his lips. That one was going to be far from the last to suffer this day.

His eyes widen, suddenly, his hands shaking as he starts to hear...distantly, he notices that the pot has shattered, his hands are burnt and bloody, and that he's fallen to his knees, cradling his head in his hands as desperate tears pour down his face and a silent scream wracks a body that is physically incapable of processing the sheer psychic horror the Professor has just experienced.
"Nuh..." Professor X manages, "...no..."

"Mon dieu! Charles!?" He almost yelled out as he went to the man's side, "Are you alright? What happened?" He saw the man's bloody hands and frowned, "We need to get you to Hank."

"...yuh-yes..." Xavier grits out, reaching out and physically grabbing one of the mental projections that gets a little too close to Jean-Paul. "...that would be...wise..."

He burst into the infirmary and put the professor down on a nearby bed. "Hank?!" He yelled out, hoping to get someone's attention. "HANK!?"

They weren't quite sure what it was, but it was like a bomb went off in their brains. Each one of them, by the nature of their bond, reflected it back at the others and there wasn't any way to buffer it.
Each girl grabbed her head and screamed. Not one of them could buffer it for the others.

"Somebody help!"

The other four? The screaming took on a psychic life.

This is it, this is how I'm going to die. Killed by psychic mutant blondes. I always knew blondes would kill me.

The tone was terse and tense. This had better be important.

"Summers, this is Agent Pierce, we have a crisis on our hands. Bellingham, Washington, we're getting reports in of mutants in the city going on a rampage, powers out of control--and the Purifers are moving in and picking them off. They were already there. Stryker knew this was going to happen--which means he's caused it somehow."

That was all Scott said before hanging up.
He needed to update Xavier.
Stryker finally made his move, and if the X-Men didn't do something quick... he didn't even want to think about it.

The book was dropped carelessly to the floor as the good doctor held his head and screamed.
It was but a few moments, but it felt like it took forever for the pain to pass.
"What... what was that?"
Reply
"Guards! Guards!" he shouted as the pain started to become unbearable.
"Keep it quiet, Mentallo!"
"GUARDS!!"
God damn that hurt! What the hell was going on?

But today, there was something niggling at the back of his mind. Something that was pushing and prodding at a bunch of neurons that haven't been used in some time. It had started to give him a headache, but whatever it was, it passed soon enough.
He shook it off easily, and wondered if he just imagined that, or if there was something... something else happening.

"What... in heaven's name was that?"
