Paul Simon could take the Carrie Fisher jokes. As long as she didn't write another book about him in retaliation for the skit. Crazy ass woman.

Back to character.

"Baby, please, we had good times, right? You know you don't want to kill me."

He took the time to glance out in the audience. Nobody. It's like the world knew or something. Well, yeah, that's Wanda and luck, right? It's weird, but the girl right now? She's reminding him about the crazy version of his girl-. Try ex-girlfriend. Would have been fiance`.

God damn it, Vihz.

He stows it and works on what he rehearsed.

"So why do you wanna kill my brother this week?"

The lady isn't breaking a sweat and is still in character. "You left me...sucking mud while you and your brother went on a merry chase for what? Nuns?"

"No! Do you really want to kill me? Do you want to end up in prison for the rest of your life for nothing? The answer is easy if you take it logically." Paul Simon wonderd if anyone would get that joke.

One of the advantages to having a secret hideout with a high-tech media center designed to collect data immediately from all over the world?

Getting Saturday Night Live three hours before anyone else on this coast.

Victor settles down to watch, having insisted the Thunder God join them. After all, Simon Williams -- Wonder Man -- is the guest star tonight.

"I met him briefly," Victor explains to Thor. "He was pretty nice. He helped me kick MODOK's giant... whatever it is a giant head sits on." He pauses. "He also kinda... said we were like brothers, since Vision's kinda like my brother, and like his."

Thor nods. "Wonder Man ist a friend, and a brave comrade in arms, though I fear his will hast oft not proven the strongest. If something hast compromised the Avengers, and e'en Captain America and bold Herakles, surely Wonder Man hast fallen as well, or ist in terrible danger."

"Maybe when he's done with this show, we can go meet him, test the waters, and see if he's safe." Victor looks hopeful. "I mean, he gave me the impression that I could always approach him if I needed to.

"Mayhap, though we must be wary of traps. Not long ago, I wouldst hath trusted Herakles like a brother."

That's when the Grim Reaper steps onto the stage, holding a woman hostage... a woman who looks remarkably like the actress from the scene.

"My dear brother," he smirks. "How very good to see you."

The crowd chuckles, apparently believing it's all part of the act.

Oh, hell...

Screwed by older brother two and now apparently about to throw down with older brother one. This day just got better and better. And most people still apparently think this is part of the show. Also, goddamit, the scene had him lying on his stomach while Paul Simon - 5'3" and 125 soaking wet, got to stand up to Grim Reaper.

"Let her go!" he snarls, starting to get to his feet.

"No," the Reaper replies, grinning. He leans down and kisses the hostage, then looks back up at his brother.

Paul Simon definitely did not remember any of this remotely mentioned in the script. Man, he just knew this was going to happen. He slowly stepped back. He might be the best musician in the world but he didn't think the Grim Reaper was going to be impressed with any rendition of "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover", "Sound of Silence", "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" (God he hated that song), or any other hits he'd written.

"So what is it you want?" Paul said slowly, raising his hands up in either a calming manner or hopefully some signal to the stupid audience.

Victor turns to Thor, shocked.

"I... don't think that was part of the act. Do you?"

"Nay, child. I say thee nay... but when this ist resolved, that the true Lord of Storms mayst turn his attention to vengeance, let Eric Williams, he who call'st himself the reaper make peace with whate'er he believes, for this Thor canst not forgive...

Wonder Man ist dead."

Victor stands before the God of Thunder, and bows his head.

"Then I'll help you however I can. I promise."

Thor nods. "Like as not, the villain wast some part of greater conspiracy, as he so oft wast. Mayhap e'en those trying to kill thee and thine. Prepare whate'er arms and powers thou hast, for if we art to defeat this conspiracy, then tis to war we must go. And let these assassins beware."
