We're having a bit of a cloudburst (<-- understatement) and I am officially happy the Kid and the Mum and I got our holiday celebrations in early. I do wish I could share. It never rains but it pours, as they say in Bree.

he's trying to flush some sort of heavenly cockroach down the drain and got a bit weirded out by it and it must go away right nao kthxbai.

I totally hooted out loud at this metaphor; I knew exactly what you meant, having had that exact experience! It was very gross at the time, but the way you put it made it hilarious!

Here's hoping the weather is as accommodating as you need it to be. We are supposed to have it fairly pleasant over the weekend, but the lack of thunderstorms will be offset by the fireworks, as Sophie will be terrified.

Hee! Glad I could give you a smile.

I'm actually okay with thunder. Of course, I don't have a pup to be terrorized by it, but thunder is a bit romantic and broody. Firecrackers and sharp explosions weird me out a bit at the best of times. Cars backfiring too, but a weekend of constant fireworks is not a pleasant, relaxing time in my book, even if I stay in my apartment. So having the rain drown it out, particularly as I'm more or less set for the weekend and can stay in, would be quite nice.
