*g* I think Penelo's coming and going from Archades as Larsa grows leaves wonderful opportunity for surprises like this. I like how older Larsa is so collected, assured-- Penelo's shocked reaction can't have been what he'd hoped for, but he deals with her so well, so gently.

I admit, the set-up of Larsa and Penelo not seeing each other in ages and Penelo getting the surprise of her life when he finally shows up after having very nicely grown up is a wonderful, albeit already rather cliched, one. But really, how could I resist playing around with it a bit? ♥

And Larsa is pretty damn unflusterable even at the age of 12, though he has his moments-- I can only assume he'd have a killer poker face in his later years! He could probably be knee-deep in lava and not change expressions by the time he's in his thirties, no? ;)

He and flustered-but-liking-it Penelo are the love. ♥
