Elijah reached for her almost instinctively when she came in, one hand drifting lightly through her hair.

"I had a thought," he said, mustering up a bit of a smile. "Something to cheer you up."

Though, really, there was only so much that could do that, he knew. The grief was too pressing. But there were distractions, things that could bring a smile for a little while, at least.

Rebekah slid closer as he reached out for her, biting back a sigh as she closed her eyes at the feel of his hand drifting through her hair.

Then she looked at him curiously, arching a brow as she did. "What is it?"

A slightly conspiratorial smile flashed, and he reached to tap lightly on her nose, affectionate and sure of her, at the least, in a world gone otherwise amok.

"How would you like to meet my favorite witch?"

What? Klaus had his. Elijah had his own.
