Oh, ILU.
I thought I was the one who looked at Gokudera at chapter 32 and thought, poor kid, Amano really likes him to have it rough. And the fact that it was supposed to be funny is to put it mildly, creepy.
Now then, I put my hand on your shoulder if you’re up for Dera’s UNHAPPY N ANGTSY past to remain like it was, because now, on top of a pulled out of the ass, full of holes explanation he’s the dude who’s been emoing his whole life over a misunderstanding. Was this even needed? Couldn’t Bianchi, if it SOOO needed, just state that Gokupapa loved Gokumama? He love her but he still had her killed because he had a wife and it’s mafia, son, and it broke his heart OH TEH ANGST BRING IT ON. It would be, at least, a little more, uh, believable?
The top five best scenes: oh the third one, recalled it and shuddered all over once again, the sheer level of adrenalin, testosterone and concentrated badassery injected in a single panel/line, Amano, you, just. Um, yeah. I really like that scene too. And brownie points to Amano for the uncanny

Sometimes I wonder if Amano didn't write chapter 61 just as an apology for chapter 32. There's one scene in that one where Tsuna starts off by bitching about Gokudera's "scariness" and so forth the same as before, but this time on the following page he has a turnaround and calls him a friend and says that he doesn't want him to leave. I appreciated that. XD

If he really was loved, then why did his dad let his sister poison him for the lulz and then just let him up and run away at the tender age of eight? Why didn't he ever tell his son the truth about his mother? Why is it that he has to find all of this out from his sister, years and years later? This is really one of those instances where finding out the truth almost makes the situation worse than ever, because now on top of all that angst, he gets to be tortured by all these could-have-beens. Alas

Arrrgh, I still can’t justify the Gokumama!explanation for myself. Was it really that necessary?
I’ve long before, of course, resigned myself to the fact that Amano just has several black boxes that are labeled as “new character designs”, “weird stuff I’ve mentioned before” and “events that didn’t get any justification”, and randomly sticks a hand into one of them when she need a plot twist or wrap up a loose end. I must say, I’m generally okay with resulting meth-reeking wtftacular cocktail, but sometimes it just spills over the edge.
Gokudera’s moment is definitely one of them.

Amano does usually manage well enough in spite of (or even because of) all the totally random crap she pulls. XD But yeah, like you said, sometimes it just does not add up at all and the end result is really sloppy and annoying. In her defense, there's a reason pretty much my entire "why did this have to happen?" list is taken from the second half of the Future Arc. I have virtually no complaints about the rest of the series (and I thought long and hard about it, too).

I gotta say, my favorite part of all his upgrading has to the fact that he can fly now. There's something about a flying swordsman that's just. Awesome personified. XD

I totally agree with you on the best scene being Tsuna convincing Gokudera to live and him finally finding inner worth as opposed to just being a tool for Tsuna's ends.

The whole thing reminded me so much of what Lorien said in Babylon 5:
"I know. You're close friend. Very close. Its easy to find something worth dying for. Do you have anything worth living for?"

I wholeheartedly agree with the Things You Want People To Say In Reborn. Every. Single. One. Seriously, where the hell are the younger versions of everybody from the future arc?

I love that KHR has basically no ship wars. At all. Everyone basically ships every pairing to various degrees, and it is very, very happy-making. ♥

MAYBE THIS MAKES ME A TERRIBLE PERSON, but I kiiiiinda wish Gokudera's angsty troubled past had actually stayed angsty and troubled. Me too. -_- My headcanon is that Bianchi faked all the evidence and made up the whole 'No, everything was happy!' past just to make Gokudera feel better. Because she kinda felt like she should make up for all those times he got ill just by seeing her face.

And dammit I have to go pack now so I can't talk about the rest. /o\

I knoooow, I want to see Spanner and Shouichi and KAWAHIRA GODDAMN. And Gamma and baaaaaby!Uni and Kikyou and all the rest. And Byakuran especially because he left an empty place in my heart where a cheerful, fabulous villain should be.

I never realized how much the constant ship wars in other fandoms got to me until I got into this fandom and felt the relief of not having to deal with that. |D

That last Mukuro panel was just made for Friends Only banners. I'm surprised no one (AFAIK) has ever used it. "FRIENDS ONLY BITCH!!!!!" IT'S PERFECT, SERIOUSLY.

Magneto kicks ass. I've liked him ever since the days of the 90s cartoon, but film!Magneto is my absolute favorite. Possibly because he is played by Ian McKellen. That may definitely be a contributing factor.
