You may be great and smart, but can you draw?

It's important to take your position seriously, Raikov! I'm... rather envious of that kind of attitude. I'm rather no-nonsense man myself, but I tend to become more flexible as time goes on. I suppose it must be my parental instincts - I have two children of my own, actually. My wife always told me I was no good with long-term discipline...

(However, any new students that read this will be disappointed to know I have zero tolerance for certain behavior in my class. I rarely extend due dates unless I find it necessary. While this may be harsh, I find it creates a better classroom learning environment. I don't usually kick students out, but I do report upsetting behavior. I try to be as fair as possible.)

No need to be envious. I've had.. prior experience with this sort of thing.

I've had prior experience myself, but it was under some rather... interesting circumstances. I can't say they mirror yours, but I don't find that matters in my example.

So, Raikov, have you worked in the art career before? I'm not exactly an artist myself, but I do enjoy drawing.

Interesting.

And no, this is the first time. When I was younger, I had wanted to start an art career but my parents insisted I enroll in the army.

I can't remember if I signed up for that one. Is the name "Ness" on the class list?

Honestly, it doesn't matter if you signed up or not to me. Just show up and I'll write down who attended class from there.
