Thank you to those who gave me presents. I won't be opening them until New Years though, unless you need me to incase they'll go bad or something. I also won't be delivering my gifts until Soviet New Years.

[Sleeping out the last haze of the hospital-injected drugs through the day had allowed the giant to wake up with a noticeable lucidity in the evening. He still has his bandages (around his hands in particular), he still is noticing the extent of the damage to his left arm, he still has to wear a complete chest brace as a safety measure, but for the most part he can sit up and not feel the world shudder around him and try to throw him back down again.
(The Raikov doll Spinny made left by his bedside at the hospital had been hidden away somewhere.)
Raikov, while he is fiddling with the laptop, can hear shuffling in the other room as the older man rouses from his slumber. To anyone else, it would have been the waiting terror of a dragon rising from its former immovable dormancy.]
Raikov was in high spirits today: Yevgeny was finally back and his plan to take in Amp had gone smoothly! Now all that needed to be discussed was about Amp possibly rooming with them.
When he heard Volgin awaken, he got up and peeped into the bedroom, "Yevgeny?"

A slow, pleased grunt; Volgin knew the sound of his Vanya from anywhere. The rubber padding below him squeaked as the older man adjusted himself to face the doorway. He might have been trying to smack away this odd taste that lingered in his mouth.
Mmmph. Now then.
His words were slow, a contented rumble: "Yes, Ivan?"

What do you do for that kinda day? [He wonders if it's the same as the American New Year's a.k.a the kind he celebrates.]
