[A month. It's been a month since she's gotten here. A month and at least a week, actually. A month since she's seen her family - especially her sister - and her friends, a month since she's been at "home"... and truth be told she's really, really starting to feel rather homesick. Thylos helped some, but... She just missed everyone. She hadn't even ( Read more... )

[Her didactic approach may not be the most helpful, but she means well.]

Many of us represent different worlds. Given that, we can assume the existence of still more: infinite worlds and possibilities, according to multiversal theories.

[... she thinks she got most of that.]

Well, yeah... I guess so. It's just... on my world, other worlds are just the kind of things you see in stories. Not like here.

I... don't think I've heard of a "multiversal theory" before though...

It's the same for me. It was only a theory, or something for science-fiction maybe.

But then something changes that proves that it's real... it's kind of crazy.

[Except Lindsay's not referring to Luceti, though Luceti is another part of it.]

Well, seeing as how many of us do come from different worlds...

Well... yeah, that's true.

It's just... a lot of people here seem really... okay with it. With being on another world. [Or at least she hasn't seen people freaking out about it, or anything.] Even though it's really strange on my own.

That's not always the case. Some people might have adapted. Others prefer not to talk about it, at least not over a public network such as this. Either way, if you want to last in a new, foreign environment, you need to adapt and deal with things you can deal with.

Maybe it's because you are on your own while a lot of other people have friends or family with.

[Hm, she hadn't thought about it like that.] I guess that's true... It still seems really weird though, I guess.

Wh-what makes you say that? [Was it really that obvious her big sister and friends weren't here and she missed them?]

There are many different worlds... But not only are there many different worlds, b-but there are also many different versions of worlds. I've met people here from perhaps three different iterations of Japan so far!

[And this isn't even including the fact Nodoka has been to two other worlds before coming here.]

Different versions?

[Not to mention Japan. So like... alternate dimensions? It sounds crazy, but then again, so did traveling between worlds, before Otherworld]

So... what's different between these different versions?

Y-Yes, that's right. Well one version I know of has an entire island that's different from my own world, and in another of my friend's worlds World War III occurred!

[Yup, WWIII apparently happened in another world. Scary stuff.]

Whoa...

[That's... wow that really is different. World War III? ... it's almost unreal, the idea that there were Earths out there where that kind of thing had taken place...]

So... they had a sort of... different history and different places...

[Okay math. Math was something she could handle, actually. She thinks. It's one of her better subjects. Though.. it still sounds a little beyond what she knows.]

A lot of that stuff is probably science fiction in my own world. We're still trying to get to Mars. If... you know where that is. [She didn't know which world this person was from... for all she knew they'd never even heard of Earth at all, or something.]

You actually think that Luceti's an alternate world, though? Not just somewhere really far away?

Very possible, after talking to people here. It's fascinating, really.

[For a moment, she stares down at the written words, before picking up a pencil and responding in kind. It still felt weird, talking when someone was writing ]

The travelling to other worlds?

The possibilities of other worlds and traveling between them. Apparently a few here have done it. I have no experience with traveling and prior to arriving here, the possibility of other worlds was only an idea. A logical idea, but nothing I would have ever thought possible.

And here I am now. In another world.

Have you settled in all right?

I've heard from some other people who say they've gone to a lot of different worlds too... it's kind of crazy. Not in a bad way! It's just...

Back in my world, people think that kind of thing was something you only really saw in like, stories and things. Except maybe going to other planets in space, but we haven't really been able to do that yet. [She's not sure, but it almost sounds like Ginia's world is the same.]

It's just really weird though, when something you've only really seen in stories suddenly becomes real.

[As for settling in, though...]

I'm doing okay. I've found someone to stay with, so that's good.
