Frightening and sadly, a relatable experience for some women. I used to work with a new mom crisis team and this is a real situation that can be alleviated.

She certainly seemed like she knew the high expectations for new parents and that weighed heavily as the depression set in. Parenting is deadly difficult work in those early days and PPdepression is a serious condition that needs respect and attention. People can feel so alone and without help and support, terrible things can happen. I hope she's able to find her way through this!
