Thanks. I couldn't decide whether to go with a drastic end or no. Happy that you liked it.

Unfortunately this is the reality for many, and too often there isn't a bell to chase away the darkness...

I like the set up...and the pacing. Hugs and peace~~~

You set up a dark, scary powder keg! A colicky baby can be so hard, but especially for a depressed, isolated and frustrated mother.

Weirdly my mind couldn't give this idea up. It surely could take a toll and end badly. Thanks for reading and commenting *smiles*

I was expecting something more like postpartum depression-- because with a first child, no mother will ever know that's coming until it happens to her.

But even the sleep deprivation and being ill-suited to staying at home with a baby take their own kind of toll. I'm glad the mother didn't choose anything drastic here, but that combination of conditions can be really tough-- and again, the mother is unlikely to ever foresee it!

Yes. Even I was thinking of postpartum depression while writing this. It can be really overwhelming for the inexperienced mother especially when she herself has high expectations.

It has to be tough, being a mother without much of a support system and having to do everything on her own.
