Stargate SG-1: Relativity

So I finally read the latest Stargate book. Yeah, I know I said I was going to read it at least a month ago, but I just never got around to it. What can I say? Put Jack and Daniel on the cover of a book and I'm not going to come running unless I'm really looking for some boyslash/subtext. Now, Janet on the cover of the next book? Yeah, I'm so ( Read more... )

I agree with all your points! Especially the Sam/Teal'c points. ;-D And yes! I forgot there was so much Sam/Janet stuff in it. Aww. So, yeah, I liked parts and I hated bits, not for Sam/Jack but because they wouldn't just ADMIT it. We're not idiots, folks. And the blood test! Right! Maybe it WASN'T Sam. But if it wasn't her, then all the teasing was just stupid and pointless. "Who is your mother?" "Some woman named Josephine." :D

And I do look forward to the BFA from this author. Just... as long as the cuteness is kept to a minimum. ;-D

Especially when the Jacks were in the Ashcen prison and our Jack asked Old Jack how he got out the last time. The way he said, "Sam." Hello! So not someone named Josephine! Being coy means they fucked up! *sigh* This would've been the perfect chance to put some Jack/Sam in that wouldn't bother people because it was just them in a different timeline.

I'm hopeful since he never got cute in this book. But I'm not sure I'll be able to handle coy.

~nods~ Another coy story... *shudders* I just want a good team story with no pairings sticking their noses in. And what's weird is I don't mind the Sam/Jack-esque pairing in other shows. I'm 100% John/Aeryn in Farscape, I didn't care one way or another about Grissom/Sara... it's just Sam with Jack. I doesn't compute it. :D

And yeah, I meant to say in the first reply that the Aschen were a neat twist. Also, the address... I'll keep my eyes peeled for further info!

I prefer it when they either leave it completely open to interpretation or have a nice balance where you can see pretty much everyone boinking everyone else. That way, my OTP is there and so is yours (metaphorically speaking, anyway, since we share OTPs sometimes). Sam/Jack isn't my first choice, but it also doesn't bother me. John/Aeryn was pretty much the basis for Farscape (at least, that's how it seemed sometimes), so that one I always liked, though every now and then they could get a little too lovey-dovey.

Grissom/Sara, though...*shudders* I don't understand that one. If they had established it early in the series when Sara first arrived, I might have at least not hated it. But as soon as Sara basically told him that she was done waiting, that pairing lost all potential for me. It probably doesn't help that it seems like Grissom's incapable of feeling love for anything but his bugs. Maybe I just have issues with the idea of Grissom having sex.
