Those Were The Years That Were

Dec 31, 2005 11:58

For the last two Decembers (though really, I could have done this at any time), I completely forgot to do one of the few memes I enjoy writing: The one titled with various versions of "What I Was Up To When" at certain intervals in the past. Today, of course, being New Year's Eve, I figured I'd better type this now while I have the chance, or else ( Read more... )

nostalga, memories

The beard is new, right?

Some of what's in your post resonates with me, such as turning 30 and not having accomplished all I wanted to by that age...and watching the Superfriends and Land of the Lost. :-)

It still feels like a novelty, but the beard will actually be two years old next month. (Where does the time go?)

As for cartoons, I should've also posted the original Space Ghost, the Herculoids, and others to be more comprehensive. :)

I don't remember, but I do know she transferred to Lord Botetourt after she left Byrd.

This meme is great for learning about someone on LJ. I might do it soon. :-)

I'd also be interested in reading a post about those school bullies. Whatever happened to them?

I've been meaning to write a "bullies post" for some time now--though I don't really know what became of any of them.

Maybe you could guess what happened to them? What if you google their names?

I tried that once not long ago; all I got was an article about a particular river (the New River, maybe) which featured the Chief Bully and his brother fishing as an anecdote about Stuff You Can Do On The River.

Then don't miss the Vacation entries (with photos) I posted earlier this month...or my photo journal dannys_album, which may contain some faces you recognize. :)

The bulk of us may not necessarily be close together distance-wise, but we still manage to get together a lot: Barb Fischer (once Poff), Walt Stoneburner, Tamara Stoneburner (once Harrison), James Stewart, Sondra Brackman, and Paul Wildenberger, for instance; Barb still sees Rob Balder at conventions. We don't hear much these days from Amy Kopia, Frank Clayton, or Richard Sarver, alas, but we try to keep tabs on what they're up to. :)

Well, let's see--here's a rundown of who's around:

Barb: kittykatya
Sondra: dravon
Walt: whiskeyrivers
Tamara: mauzybroadway

I saw you already had Rob on your Friends List...I also forgot to list Mary Schons (who, like Tamara, never lived in Tabor but hung out there a lot, usually painting in the TV Lounge)--Mary goes by viedma here. And do you mind if I ask what you've been up to, and what your last name is nowadays? (I wrote about Tabor here in LJ several times in 2005 and wondered more than once what happened to some of the folks I've lost contact with.)
