Whether you're bullied because you're gay, perceived to be gay, fat, skinny, too smart, not smart enough, pimply, or just DIFFERENT, you don't deserve to be treated like that. No one does. And anyone who thinks it's cool to bully others is a loser. As a parent I've seen a supposed "zero-tolerance" policy toward bullying that was routinely ignored by the school administration. I think one of the reasons I like DD's high school MUCH better than her middle school (which, granted, I hated) is that the school day is structured so that there's little to no time available for bullies to do their nasty work. When you're in class 90 minutes at a time and have only 5 minutes between classes, there's just no time to shove someone into a locker, stick his head down a toilet or put a KICK ME sign on her back.

I agree, it's a good thing in theory but there are so many other things that kids are getting bullied about now a days and it needs to stop. The zero tolerance thing is a joke. My son (10) who is some what overweight is picked on and bullied over his weight all the time ( ... )
