Egregious Disruptions

Wow, I have a lot to write about today.

The Gas Station Coffee Auditions continue. Today's candidate: UDF. Verdict: pretty tasteless. Not a fan. So far my favorite is Speedway but there isn't one on a direct route between me and work. BP is the clear winner so far.

There was an Egregious Disruption last night Chez madlori/shadist. We were without power ( Read more... )

He's probably the kind of guy that swerves to hit turtles.

Have you tried McDonald's coffee? It ranked better than Starbucks in a Consumer Reports article a few years ago. As long as you're trying new places....

I have no macros to shame haters. I just have my "yes I eat soap cupcakes" snarky icon, but that's it. I used to think that getting harassed while exercising was a fat person thing, and then I really started paying attention and it's a douchebag thing -- that is, only douchebags do it, and they do it to all kinds of people -- fit people, fat people, older people, men, women, kids. I'm just not going to give it any more mental energy -- these people don't know you or me and they have no rational basis for judgment ( ... )

This is kind of random and I hope doesn't sound patronizing but I really admire people who take pride in doing whatever job it is that they're doing, like you and your coffee. Not only does it reflect something about you, but doing it that way makes the job better and more enjoyable than if you approached it differently, amiright?

Not patronizing. I'm working full time again as a Project Admin (that's more my job field) but when the chips are down, I'm willing to take any work there is. So when my benefits ran out, I worked at several retail jobs and then got hired by the Census, and I worked all three jobs until I found a full time job (and then I only worked the full time job, the Census, and a few hours at one of the retails. The Census ended, so I'm really only working one job now. whew!)

Anyways, yes, I am one of those maniacs that just takes gusto in any job I do. This was a particularly happy intersection of me really loving coffee and basically being given free reign to manage coffee production. It didn't hurt that I have been a barista. People would suggest that I was so good at coffee, I should apply at 'bucks, or the 'boo or cuppa- -- and I had, but my experience notwithstanding they weren't interested. I took the retail jobs I was offered, and made the best of it.
