So, I know most of you probably read PostSecret. And many of you probably also know about ljsecret.

It was just a few days ago that I learned about fandomsecrets. I tell you, if you ever want to feel like you have a rich, full, fulfilling life, go there and look at secrets for awhile. I read about the past week's worth of secrets, and I have come to the conclusion ( Read more... )

I feel the same way about falling out of fandoms. I started reading your LJ and other HP authors' LJs when I read a lot of fic - and I mean a LOT of fic. But now I hardly read any and I don't feel I'm missing much.
I still have a soft spot for HP fandom but I'm not very active in it. Now of course any day could come where I could jump right back on, but I would hope it's for something else.
My current fandom is Lost, but it's not for fic, more for the sci-fi and mystery nerd in me. I find that after reading the great classic HP fic out there, others just don't compare. Hah, I say that now, but I'm sure at some point something else will reel me in :)

Oh, man, fandomsecrets. I'll be honest, there have been days I've gone on there and started arguments with people just because some of them are ridiculous and I cannot help myself.

Though personally, I'd say it's closer to 15% "I ship it" or "I'd hit it" secrets, and 5% Watchmen secrets. At the very least. People in Watchmen fandom are rabid.

I didn't realize the SPN fandom was so...well, whatever it is.

The Supernatural fandom is like the new Harry Potter fandom. I swear, they have every crazy-fandom stereotype that the HP fandom had a couple of years ago (still does? I don't know, I got out of it because it scared me, haha). They also do that thing of jumping all over anyone who doesn't agree with them about how wonderful this-that-or-the-other-thing is.

These days, because you are the source of canon, as per the old Soviet Russia jokes:

Right now, you may not be interested in fandom, fandom is interested in you. :-)
