Me and my cousin watched the movie (in secret) when we were kids. We giggled so much when Chris was caught by Brooke wanking off. Oh, we were so gleeful.

I saw that movie when i was younger and was totally lost, i think i was too young to know what was going on. I was negative 4 when it came out (1980). I think i might have actually seen the sequel first...i was 7 (1991) when that one came out. The thing i didn't like was that Brooke and Chris were alive at the end of the first one and (i thought) the kid dead. But at the beginning of the second one the kid was alive and Brooke and Chris dead.

My favorite part of the sequel (which i remember much better than the first) is when the uber-snobby girl gets to the island and says something along the lines of "don't talk to them, we don't even know if they are even civilized" and the guy walks up behind them and goes "c-i-v-i-l-i-z-e-d civilized" and totally shuts miss priss up. it's great. Also, as a sidenote, I won my 5th grade spelling bee with that word and the *only* reason i remembered how to spell it was that movie. hee!

LOL - my teenaged brothers snuck out with me to see The Blue Lagoon - and I remember not understanding the whole "why-is-she-screaming" birth scene.

The nekkid I had no problems with, being 4 - the very idea of being able to walk around with no clothes on was so awesome - but I do remember being sad that they thought their baby was dead so they ate the berries to die too.

Weird what my little-kid brain did and didn't understand!

Dang, now I want to see the movie (and dream of being able to be one with the nekkidness)! :P

I've never seen the original, but I have seen the sequel. It wasn't that great to tell you the truth. I found the fact that the couple (teenagers) were utterly gorgeous and well-groomed to be disturbing considering they're supposed to be stranded on an island. I mean, are they telling me that they had razors available because never did I see Mila Jovovich with armpit hair.

Btw, you don't know me, I'm from the mailing list. ^_^
