More perils of online dating

So, I'm dipping my toes back into the online-dating pool. It's rough, man. Who are all these people? And why do they not know about spellcheck? Do guys really think that an all-lower-case profile description with second-grade-level spelling errors in which they tell me they're a "good guy" who wants to meet a "special lady" is going to entice ( Read more... )

Why should you be less subject to social forces than anyone else?

Hope you at least have some fun times from the ones who CAN write like semi-literate preschoolers. :^)

I'm not comfy with lying on my profile. But about my age? I guess that'd be the least objectionable thing to lie about. I don't know how far I could go down, though. I look younger than I am (people often mistake me for thirty or even late twenties) but I don't know if I could stomach going down to thirty.

So...you want to meet a 34 year old guy with great hair, no kids, has never been married and, while he does love his baseball, is also a nerdy dude? He has an AWESEOME SIL and a pretty cool twin brother. :D I'm kdding. But you have the same problem he does - all the ladies his age are now married with kids, and/or divorced. It's just the time of life we're in, I guess.

Great post! It is so true and seriously, how often do you see a big girl with a slender guy out and about (romantically)? It's not very common and when you do see it there is often an 'I like to be bossed around' element happening with the guy. Now I'm talking about a significant difference in size of course. There are plenty of slenderish guys who enjoy a 'curvy' girl but I feel like they receive so much pressure from the outside that they have to be pretty self confident to pursue it relationship wise. Good luck on your quest!
