I'm seriously considering jumping on the legacy bandwagon again. I've been watching the Founder Challenge over at legacy_writers and think it's a good opportunity to do another legacy

Well you know I will enjoy anything you choose to do! :D I can completely understand the second honeymoon though. But for me, I think I might just wait until I get TS3 to continue my Standish Legacy (would that be too weird?) I think it would be a chance to explore the new game and do something constructive with it at the same time.
Commentary legacies are FUN. I need to train myself to keep in commentary mode though. :D
See that's where following the Founder Challenge rules helps. They have a rule about updating every two weeks or you get booted off the list. While I'm not doing the list thing, I'm going to use their reminder to help keep me on track (which will hopefully keep me from going off into story land).
I never do the home businesses and I really should try it. From what I have seen here on LJ it looks like a lot of fun. Adds a bit more of a challenge to the game. I hope you get recharged by a legacy challenge and go back to Peculiar with a new outlook. I miss reading Peculiar. Also the beach lots look like fun too. I tried that but was not able to dig holes or comb the sand or do anything beach oriented for some reason. I probably have a hack or download that is preventing that. Something else I have to look into. I always have ignored the LTW of raising X pets too. It seems too hard to fulfill. If you do it I would like to know all about it lol. Hope the second honeymoon works for you. I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with next.
I miss writing Peculiar. I'm really trying to get part 3 of "Strange Bedfellows" out before my vacation. I have pretty much all the pics ready I just need to DO it
( ... )
I used the right lot, managed to figure that one out, but I get no option for digging or combing or sunbathing, but can go swimming in the water. No option for building sand castles either. I am sure it's a hack or object conflict. I have just been too lazy to go through my CC to find what it is.
I would have a hard time dealing with the missing pet grief too. I could never do the ISBI challenge due to that. I can't stand to see my sims so upset and sad.
I also don't use the OFB stuff enough. This sounds fun! If this wasn't thesis year, I would try to get back to playing. Just you wait until I graduate!!! :-)
I'm a bad legacy player, I hardly ever listen to my sims' LTW. I generally take one look at a toddler and know what they will end up doing, which works for me cause writing about the details of sim life drives me nuts, I just can't bring the funny like that
( ... )
So basically you were trying to create a Village of the Damned?
Pop locking? Like population control? I've never thought/heard of such a thing. I'm one of those "live long and multiply" types (then I wonder why everyone ends up inbreeding by gen 4).
No AL for me so the butler's not an issue.
I've done the secret society once. During my now completely abandoned Apocalypse Challenge. It might be something fun to try again (though not until gen 4, since the fist three generations are under "poverty rules").
Cowplant death is old hat to me. Sometimes it was really an accident (teen comes home on the bus then disappears--cowplant has satisfied smirk and full udder--oops).
The only competition I've done is cooking. It was kind of dull. The only other hobby lot I've visited is the nature one (boring but it had a shower--I was doing a poverty challenge and it helped a lot).
I've never played WITHOUT free will. That's how you get the funny crap to happen.
OMFG yes! Village of the Damned = one my top 10 all time favorite movies. I live for creepie alien kiddies and if I ever do this my founder will so be named David after the lone survivor.
I very, very rarely have sims die on me. I am squishy center girl and the crying breaks my heart so the old folks tend to go on very extended vacations and make themselves comfortable in the sim bin while their kids grow up without them. Reason #1 why I also never have ghosts. Other reason, I forget to take the few who do die's urns out of the inventories.
So that's why I never get funny crap! It all makes sense now. Let that be a lesson to my micro managing control freaky ways. I really should do an ISBI at one point, just to see how long it takes before I go into frazzled aspiration failure and freak family and friends out. I should totally take pics of that. You know, if I could stand having my face plastered for all the world to see.
My god, am I on a sugar high? I just can't stop nattering!
Hi. I meant to de-lurk the other day, but lurking is such an ingrained habit. Sorry.
I vote for another Uglacy! The Legacy comm needs more ugly - desperately. And you...well...don't make me break into 'Nobody Does It Better' here, but you know what I mean, right? Come and save us from face #1 variations!
It's kept me going for five/six generations now - waiting to see what the kids will look like.
Also, what about an apocalypse challenge/legacy combo? That's always fun, albeit incredibly hard. They have to follow apocalypse rules until all restrictions are lifted and then they can live like any other legacy family. Or you could get to generation five playing a regular legacy and then, when they're really spoiled and loaded, then you detonate a couple of power plants in their neighbourhood and force them to start again from nothing in a nuclear winter.
Thank you! An Uglification is definitely an option (and can be done with little extra work on my part). I'm already amending the normal legacy rules to allow "maxis made playables" (as long as I don't play them on the other side while I'm doing the legacy) so I could get some fun ugly from what maxis gives us (mmmm, add a dash of Ottomas to any legacy and it's automatic ugly).
I like the idea of a mid-legacy apocalypse, too. I'm writing that down on my idea sheet. I've tried my hand at an apocalypse before and it's definitely a real challenge. It would be even worse to do it to the legacy I'm thinking about doing, since I'm going to start them as a Legacy/Poverty Challenge. They can build themselves up just to have it all taken away. Mwuahahah!
(though if I did an apocalypse, I'd use the older rules I have even though I have eps after it)

Oh my God, I know. I've got an aged down Dora Ottomas in my asylum at the moment and she is HIDEOUS. I am so marrying that woman in. She is truly epic.

That's incredibly evil. But sounds like fun. There's nothing worse than getting to that point in the legacy where everything is easy because they're completely loaded and have everything they need and want. So boring to play.
