Hurrah, you're alive and writing! ♥ This is such a great look into Merlin's head, I really think you got him. And that line about keeping Arthur ignorant and deciding it all himself - yes. Because all the secrecy and lies do give him a lot of power to make decisions (for others too), even when it's making his life hell.

That was so sad but felt so true to Merlin's character. Keeping secrets is so much second nature to him now that it's hard to see how he can break out of it. Beautifully written and lovely to see something from you again :)
