Totally and completely not helpful, but just wanted to say I was thinking along similar lines, but with John and Sherlock in the modern BBC version. Is it so uncommon in the UK? Or are people still tying it in to the original canon era a bit much? Or is it a silly thing to think about at all because, really, OMG pr0n tiems? O_o

apparently, according to wiki anyway, the UK has a less than 20% circumcision rate

Huh. For some reason I was utterly and completely convinced it was the opposite (20% UN-circumcised). Totally read that wrong. [And feeling stupid for commenting when I could have re-verified it myself. D'oh!]
