The Coyote Wanted to Play Ball ?

I swear.  This was the strangest damn thing I have ever seen. 
I just got back from taking my dog over to the little neighborhood park where we have sort of an informal doggy meet & greet in the evening.  Lizzie and I were the only ones in the park.  (To set the scene, here's a bad photo taken in low light with my cell phone.)

Obviously a super smart cyber coyote who was trying to trick you. The "ball" was probably some kind of high tech tracking device with gps capabilities, that your dog was meant to take home with you, hence giving away the location of your secret lair to the super smart cyber coyote king (S.S.C.C.K.) They must have identified you as one of our leaders, or at least a person of great interest. I wouldn't be surprised if you see this guy again.......

Maybe he saw the dogs and thought "Gee, that looks like fun, those guys that look a bit like me are really into it, I wonder if I could do it too...."

Thinking about writing this up as a children's book.
"Carlos Coyote Finds a Ball" or something along those lines :)
