This past weekend was "Dumpster Weekend" in my condo complex. Three or four times a year the condo association puts out a big Dumpster for us to use, over and above the usual trash bins. Since my dishwasher hasn't worked for a few years and is just taking up space, the boy toy got the notion that we should take it out to the Dumpster

Thanks. Of course, after we finished the job, I noticed that the flyer announcing the Dumpster weekend said "no large appliances" along with "no sofas" and a few other strictures. But, hey, the dishwasher was already out there by then, and as of Sunday afternoon the thing was nowhere near full.

That is a story in "first I decided to clean the bathroom, then regrouted the tub, then though I needed to replace the light bulbs, then decided to retile the floor...."

I see your point, but a general lack of income is putting the brakes on my work. Believe me, I would *love* to remodel my kitchen -- it was last done, as far as I can tell, in 1992, two owners ago. But I struggle to pay the mortgage and utilities. And of the three major kitchen appliances, I see the dishwasher as the least necessary.
