Say, Leonard, I have been curious about your criminal record. You have mentioned that you have a history with the law. I realize it is none of my business, but I am interested, and if you are offering to give more information, I'd love to read it.

Thank you. That thoroughly satisfied my curiousity.

If you wanted to expand on what you are referring to when you say the L.A. County lockup is "a whole bunch of no fun," I'd be interested. I hear lots of stories of the ways in which jail is horrible but it is usually from large liberal organizations that may be cherry-picking stories and discarding others to further an agenda. So if you want to satisfy a naive sheltered girl's curiosity, I'm all ears.

Don't you own a gun? Tell me about that. Any other weapons? (Legitimate weapons, not like, say, a baseball bat or a three-hour taped lecture by Ann Coulter.)

I currently own two guns: a Smith & Wesson .40-caliber semi-auto and a Colt Python .380 revolver. I'd like to get a rifle and a shotgun as well, and maybe one more handgun, but not for a good while.

I'm not sure what you mean by "legitimate weapons" -- a baseball bat certainly qualifies by my standards. But if you mean things that are basically designed just to be weapons, I have a knife and a crossbow as well as the two handguns.

That's what I meant, things that are designed to be weapons and nothing else.

I want a gun...they sort of frown on that here in NYC, though. The process to get licensed is a huge pain the arse.

HA HA HA HA, "licensed". You make me laugh.

What do you think about Kimber handguns?

Reply

You know, I'm really not that familiar with them! I know they make .45 ACP-style semi-autos, but I've never fired one or known anyone who's had one, so I can't say! Is that what you're thinking about getting?

A guy at gun class brought in his wife's Kimber and it was so freaking pretty. It was all steampunky and in "melted" style where all the edges were curved. Then I was reading about them in COMBAT TACTICS Magazine -- maybe I will get to fire the Kimber tomorrow during part 2 of gun glass when we actually go onto the range!

Otherwise, I am liking the way the Glock feels in my hand.

Yeah, Glocks are fine firearms. Highly recommended by me, as are H&Ks, though they're a lot pricier.

knife - overhand (blade near thumb) or backhand (blade near pinky)?

Reply

ludickid August 17 2007, 16:51:10 UTC
It depends on what I'm doing with it, but as a general grip, backhand. It's a lot easier to take away a knife in an overhand grip.

What professional wrestling maneuvers would you recommend to try out in a real-world fight?

How about the one where you give a guy a fatal overdose of steroids and cocaine? It seems to work pretty much near 100% in the wrestling world ...

If you can get a guy to leap at you off a huge elevated railing while wearing a defective safety strap, you're golden.

Or, if the guy you're fighting is a Von Erich, just wait. He'll drop dead of something.
