OMG!!! I wouldn't have thought Tortall & Sherlock would have gone together, but after reading this, I don't know why not. This was so, so brilliant in so, so many ways; I don't even know where to begin. The background and writing just brought back Tortall/Tamora Pierce so clearly for me... (Also, excellent reference to the Wild Mage quartet, which was my intro to Tamora Pierce and my favorite... Although the Circle of Magic comes at a very, very close second.)
