Oh, we have tried. He doesn't get it. As far as he's aware, the sun shines out of his arse and we're all terrible, mutinous bastards for not seeing it.
It actually made the whole situation worse when we tried to go through the grievance procedures, because our grievance officer is a lovely man, but a foolish fool, who showed Mr. 40 Years the dot points we'd laid down before we could edit them appropriately (so they didn't basically say 'he's a rude, obnoxious fuckwit with a superiority complex' in slightly nicer words.)
I swear the universe decided to make this week "Lets Dump Crap on Teachers and Make Them Cry" week :s *hugs* I know it's really really tough when you're sitting in the place you're sitting in right now, but just try to think of one student you've helped, one time one of them has called out across a hallway to say hello to you, just some time when you've felt you've made some kind of positive impact on that life. Remind yourself why you do this and why you put up with the crap.
