Okay, so after seeing the movie yet again I thought I would add a few more things I noticed that I didn't touch on in my first review. Mainly music related again, some visual, except this time I have some pictures to go along with my rambling ( Read more... )

They did certainly look like the same lockets to me (I noticed them on my second viewing too: he's got one, she's got one and there's one on the chest which held his heart). It looks like Tia's locket has lobster claws at the top. Is there any possibility that she's the woman he fell in love with?

I think that Tia is either the woman he fell in love with or the person that helped him cut out his heart and not die. One of the two, cause other wise the film makers are bing slightly...stupid in showing a locket that Tia has when the only other locket(s) really focused on are centered around Davy.

The more I think about it there isn't really as much of a hero theme in this movie.

We've talked about how although Will is the hero of DMC, he doesn't have a hero theme. It's really too bad, and it's something I hope they work on for the third movie.

When the Kraken finally breaks the ship in two the organ suddenly comes in. While Davy isn't visable on screen his desire is.

OOoo, I like that idea! Makes perfect sense.

I think for the third movie Will will probably have his own hero theme that is completely separate from Jack's theme :) And logically since the first and third of a trilogy usually have the hero's defeating the big bad it should make sense ;)

*hugs*

I would offer my theory as to the lockets and the reason why Tia Dalma has one-but sadly it involves the horrible spoilers that I read off of the 56 pages of script and the general internet buzz.

I do applaude you for noting everything about the music though.

Ahh yes I'm avoiding spoilers :) So thanks for not saying *hugs* :)

And hehe, thanks for the applause. I'm sometimes freaky when it comes to music in movies but *shrugs* we all have our things.

You having mentioned the lockets previously, I paid particular attention at my third viewing and I'm convinced they are the same, but like you can think of no reason why ( ... )

the first few notes were almost (almost!) reminiscent of "Phantom of the Opera"

You know, my first listen through of the score (before seeing the movie at all) I so thought of Phantom of the Opera when the organ came in. So yes! I'm glad to see someone else mention that. I was really throw by the organ until I saw the movie and then it kind of clicked a bit.
