On our trip up to Villa de Leyva, we stopped at the Puente de Boyacá (Bridge of Boyacá). There was a decisive battle there that gave Colombia its independence from Spain, so it's a big tourist attraction. They have put in plazas on both sides, with flags lining them, an honor guard standing watch at the bridge and at the statue of Santander, and
