Oh, God, the ending of Se7en. I saw it when I was a brand-new freshman in college, and the ending was mind-blowing to me. It still is. Seeing Mills hauled away is both depressing and infuriating. What was your impression of it?

(does Morgan Freeman ever get to not narrate)

He didn't narrate during Batman Begins or The Dark Knight, I believe.

Well, visiblemarket kind of tipped me off that something was going to happen to Tracy, so once I saw that head-sized box, it seemed pretty obvious. I have to wonder just how severely Mills would be punished. I bet any half-decent defense attorney could do a lot to mitigate things.

TRUE. Just wait, they won't be able to resist with this last one.

Ah. I hadn't even heard of it before I watched it, which might explain why I freaked out. That's true---I'd never even thought of the actually prosecution. I assumed he'd get life in prison.

Just wait, they won't be able to resist with this last one.

You're completely right! It'll probably happen at the end---first Gordon will have a voiceover, then Lucius, then Alfred, just to show the finality of the whole thing.

Dude, seriously? All I ever heard about Se7en before I saw it was "Gwyneth Paltrow's head in a box!", how did the two of you avoid that plot point so long?

Heh, well, it took me this long- it was languishing in my queue until A Damn Movie Podcast reminded me how much I wanted to check it out.

Mills tells Doe his great “work” will be forgotten in two months, but Doe believes otherwise. Considering the fact that you still hear about this movie, I think Doe is the more correct.

There's some line in there about Doe and his whole thing being turned into a "tv movie of the week", and it was kind of amusing to me at the time I saw it because they were airing the film as a movie of the week.

Doe leads them out over the dusty prairie (maybe this is LA after all?)

LOL, seriously, where the hell is that meant to be? I don't think anywhere in the NY area looks like that.

I tried to play husband.

I didn't remember that line and probably really missed the implications of it when I watched, but when I looked the movie up on Wikipedia to check what actually had happened with Lust, I saw it and was just...oh, god.

does Morgan Freeman ever get to not narrate

He's just so good at it, though.

Heh, that would be an almost creepy coincidence.

I really thought it was supposed to be NYC, but then it's all rolling plains and shrubs. *shrugs*

Yeah, Lust was not equal opportunity like you told me, hon. Not in the slightest.

Indeed, indeed.

It's definitely meant to be NYC, but if you're filming in California...

I don't know why I remembered it as the prostitute being the one who survived the encounter, but...yeah, it's not exactly surprising, but it's still terrible.

Maybe it's supposed to be a Metropolis-type situation, kind of a mix of the two.

BOOM.

It's not cheap, unfortunately. But totally worth it.
