Whepstead - a private dinner party

Mick*, one of the good folk of Whepstead (see previous entries re Queen's Head & Cricket Match), invited me & sundry others to dinner.  I was driven all the way to the next village by Vic* & Dick*, and Jane* came too.

On the whole, I have. I've been thinking about why. Some of it is that I'm a bit exotic. Some of it is that I've fallen among some very nice people. Some of it is that I'm on holiday so I'm open to overtures of friendship: usually we're too busy, too tired, etc. to either make or accept overtures of friendship.

obviously you must do pav! can you get the fixings there? how 'inherently' oz is it anyway? come to think of it, you probably make your own base and filling - or you've certainly got time to now :) - so the question's irrelevant.

They sell pav shells at Sainsbury's & Waitrose, so they will all have eaten it. They do say it is delicous, and I'm assuming if I bake my own shell, that will lend an extra cachet. It is considered Australian here, although technically I believe a Kiwi chef is just as likely the originator.
