Yuletide Reveals!

Jan 01, 2016 12:52

Well, Reveals have happened, and I'm now free to talk about what I wrote. My assignment, fairly amusingly and not very surprisingly, was for liadtbunny, who had requested various lovely things, including Adam Adamant Lives!. And you'll remember that this time last year I was all aglow with just having discovered the series and what a joy it was, and now I' ( Read more... )

shadow of the tower, wilkie collins, yuletide, historical, recs, dracula, fannish scribbles, georgette heyer, adam adamant lives!

Well done on getting so many words written for Yuletide.

Thank you! And thanks so much for betaing both of the main Yule-fics, especially my long AAL! one! ♥

You're most welcome - I did enjoy it, honestly!

(I had fun beta-reading for dbskyler too - hers was CRAYZEE fun! :D)

Oh, wow! I ran out of steam before I got to trying any Incompenent Time Travelling Saxophone Haters fic, but oh my goodness, that was indeed crazy fun! HOW DID SHE THINK OF IT ALL?? All the links! That was hilarious. I mean, it's one of those novelty fandoms where it's easy for the premise to be so much more entertaining than any actual fic, but that... *dies laughing of saxophone links*

I suppose it's a hazard of writing in such a tiny fandom, but I guessed the AAL! fic must be by you simply because there weren't that many people it could have been.

And I'm sure I've said before your voice for Sergeant Cuff is great.

I was not very anonymous, no. Especially once all the other AAL fans in the exchange had commented! But barring making fake comments myself or something, what can you do? I've never been all that mysterious.

And thank you! Sergeant Cuff is one of those characters that just has this distinctive voice and you just go with it, I find. (In all my... two times of writing him.)

Wow, that's a lot of words!

I was pretty sure you'd guess my SJA story - I don't think I can be anonymous with you and fandoms we both know :)

We should just pause here to congratulate ourselves on managing not to get to assigned to each other this year!

And thanks! It was TOO MANY WORDS! I thought it was never going to stop and I'd have to default. But, hurrah, happily it worked out. And, honestly, it really could have used at least another 1000 to tidy things up. Some fics won't grow no matter how you push at them and others won't STOP. Writing, eh?

evil horoscopes or something 'Zodiac' crossover!;p Evil horoscope is a good Avengers prompt too. Cathy Gale had a black magic one.

As you know I thought your limerick was excellent and loved it all<3 Thanks for making my first Yuletide the best:)

I think the SOTT fic being by me was the biggest non-surprise in Yuletide, even without me doing a drawing for you with monkeys on for Halloween. Also slightly suspicious that it came from a prompt in your last year's letter (I and went and looked at all my f-lists old Yuletide letters as research for my own).

Yes, Zodiac was where I started! The actress character was still involved, but when it morphed into the horror thing, it just all came together at last ( ... )

Lol, that's going in next year's letter;p

Yay, I'm glad you liked it:)

And now the fic is even betterer*g* I did casting in my 'Avengers' fic too. No Julian Glover, but Jerome Willis in the same clothes as he was wearing in his last 'Avengers' ep. Yes, but he doesn't love me any more... sob.

Thank you:) Yuletide is like the panto season of fic (good).

I'm sure you'll have Julian Glover back soon! ;-)

And Jerome Willis is a very good choice. One of us'll have to go with Peter Jeffrey next time...

Thanks! I was very relieved I managed to get the fic done - and even more so that it pleased its recipient, because that's the important bit. ♥
