I have to giggle a little at the title of your post.

Tell us truly: if someone had told you a year ago that you would create a (compelling) universe in which Blaine is a stripper and Kurt is a very special dancer (heh), would you have told them they were crazy?

And yet... it works! Because you don't treat the subject matter cheaply or insensitively. And they're still 'them,' somehow. I salute you for that.

Oh, man. I think it would be the sort of idea where I would have been very keen to see what someone else would do with it, but I definitely don't think I would've volunteered to take it on myself. Which is funny, because there's elements of the story (like a lot of the burlesque/boylesque stuff) that are things I've always been interested in and sort of sought out information and media on. And as I write, I can definitely see where a lot of this comes from my own interests and the things that I tend to gravitate to, as a writer.

But yeah, a year ago, it would've been an interesting prompt that I could in no way do justice to. And yet here I am.

I hadn't even thought about those for a while, but yeah -- the prompt ones were just written straight into a post on tumblr, and never cross-posted. The one about Burlesque isn't that important, but I'm kind of shocked I didn't cross-post Coop's best man speech.
