I had forgotten how much fun it is to do a play. I've been doing Dracula with a local theatre group, and while it's about the worst script ever written, it's hard to care about that when we're all running around backstage, doing each others' makeup and singing Disney songs. As soon as my mom sends them to me. (She made photo cds for the cast, but my desktop is dead and the laptop has no cd drive. Sadness.)

Ursula is the best. One of my cousins hums Poor Unfortunate Souls whenever she's up to something, I don't think she even knows she does it.

Hurray for theatre and Victorian costume! (I live near Whitby, these things are serious business.)

Seriously, it was one of the luckiest costume moments ever. I felt sorry for everyone who was wearing something that I had to sew together out of the old theater curtains. (I spent a week sewing things out of old theater curtains. The amount of lint to come off those things was shocking.)

Also, I had a very good lesson in the ways that teenagers can be way more mature and responsible than you think. Which is why it's even more heartbreaking to be back in daily life, where grown-ass adults are immature and irresponsible and kind of generally suck.

It'd been so long since I'd done a real play, so I feel you on the "missing theatre like air" thing. I just want to do plays all the time now.
