[Voice/Apartment action]

[muffled] Hey, don't--put that down!  Come back here and--what are you eating?  [speaking into the device] So, um, I don't have younger siblings or anything and I like kids but...I could really use some babysitting tips right now. [Quietly to himself while turning off device, with sounds of mayhem in the background] Oh, god,

grab bag, help, mini!twins, teddy gets to be the adult

Ah. Old enough to comprehend negotiations and yet still young enough to be easily subdued. Marvellous.

Give no ground. You outrank them in age, experience, and intelligence. Should they attempt to rebel, ignore them to avoid giving their tantrum any semblance of legitimacy. Likewise, foster good behaviour through bribery.

They're kids, not the enemy. I think

I probably will have to bribe them.

Huh?

I don't even know. Like how do I keep Tommy from destroying the apartment? Not that that isn't usually a concern, but still.

Never mind.

Today? About four or five as far as I can tell. Same for his twin.

Mr. Teddy, my mom says that if you yell like that you're going to get blood pressure problems.

[Sigh] That's so not something I'm worried about right now.

She also says you need to talk about the things that worry you.

Right now I am mostly worried about your br--I mean, about Tommy.

[Attempts to pull himself together and be reassuring.]

You don't need to worry about anything right now, I promise. What do you want for lunch?

[Billy is sitting somewhere nearby and watching]

I think we need to wait for our parents to come get us.

Do you know your phone number?

[Billy does. His mom made him memorize it for just such an occasion]
