Fresh bread is very easy here. The subway is in many ways less, in many ways more, annoying than the mbta. People are friendly, I think, but in ways that are not immediately obvious.
I hate Boston. But I'm a country mouse. And I don't even know where I would go for fresh bread, although I might be able to come up with some ideas. The South and the Midwest are the places to go for friendly people. Maybe Madison? I hear Madison is very nice.

Part of me says not to go west, though. I've been in the Midwest before, and it's nice but it's kind of isolated.
I'm sure I can wander into the north end from here and get bread. I am just complaining a bit. There's a whole foods nearby too. It's not just that I want fresh and good food, I want getting it to be easy. It shouldn't be a luxury item to get a fresh baked loaf of bread.
