Eliot is punishing himself. It's been a while, so maybe Sophie doesn't know all his moods the way she did once, but she knows this one. He hasn't spoken to any of them in more than a grunt for days, hasn't cooked, hasn't relaxed for more than the required ninety minutes he needs to keep from going crazy. And he hasn't stopped training. Moving, fighting, running. Eliot's punishing himself, and much as Sophie would like to claim she doesn't know why, to tell him that she needs him to tell her, to talk to her, she knows. She knows far too well.
Eliot's job is to keep their back. To count guns. To put people down when they need putting down.
Eliot lost track of a gun. Got distracted by Sophie.
Now he's punishing himself.
She doesn't think he's going to stop until they know Nate's all right, until they've got Nate back.
