GOOD for Suzanne! Is she quitting cold turkey?

My mom is a nicotine gum user. She has been using it for at least seven years. I don't know how much she uses. She doesn't chew a whole piece at once, but rather bites the corner off of a piece and wraps up the remainder and puts it in her pocket. Repeats every 20-30 minutes.

I don't think she will ever get off the stuff. :-(

She did quit cold turkey though today she sounds like she might start smoking again. This is not an easy addiction to break. Cutting down or using "nicotene replacement therapy" is not the way to free yourself from nicotene addiction.

Oh no, I hope she gets past this strong craving. If she has gone two weeks.. she'll hit a big hump. She can do it, if she distracts herself with other activities.

I agree, nicotine replacement is just a way for the tobacco companies to keep raking in the $$. Everybody I know who has tried it has failed.

I wish she would get busy with something. The inactivity is an energy sink.

I worked for a guy who was addicted to nicotine gum. He never smoked a day in his life, but he chewed that gum all the time! I used to buy it at CostCo for him, huge packs of gum that he had the habit of leaving everywhere, already chewed. :P

I tried some once. It was horrid!
