I drove my boyfriend to dinner the other night, in my car (he doesn't have one), and at the valet parking, we got out of the car and the attendant started to give the ticket to my date. I semi-glared at him and said, "It's my car." He gave the ticket to me with no apology. I commented to my date as we went into the restaurant that part of the problem is that there are tons of couples out there who would get huffy if the attendant handed the ticket to the woman who got out of the driver's seat.
