I've known for a while that it's often not really the bad things themselves that affect us, but rather the reactions of the people connected to them. A death affects you so much more if you know not just the story of it, but how the loved ones who remain deal with it. But despite knowing this it still feels vaguely silly that I'm sitting here ( Read more... )

Can't turn off the tears but I can understand. When sympathy turns to empathy it just proves how good a person you really are. Hugs....

Yes. They are loved ones, our pets. And their passing is often quite painful.

An empathetic heart is a good thing, I believe, although often hard to live with.

I think those tears make you a better human being - I would be worried if you watched somethiing like that and didn't have them (which is mainly why I don't watch those kind of things - I end up a sobbing mess)

*hugs* it's hard not to cry. Even my own dog is not just a dog, she is my sister. I don't like watching those shows cause I know I'll cry, even in happiness, but like kytivafan, it makes you a better human being.
