So, I have a character, Chas, who gets brought in to the emergency room by his lover, Zladko after some unfortunate events. (Basically, Zladko turned into a monster whne he lost ccontrol of his powers and "claimed" chas, which led to injuries ( Read more... )

First, how old are these characters? If Chas is under 18, he will be questioned in a slightly different manner and without as much choice about the questioning as he would be if he's over 18. Moreover, the first ordeal will be treating his injuries which will probably mean being in a trauma (as opposed to regular exam/treatment) room within the ED. A nurse and/or doctor will probably begin the questions and it will be their feelings about the possibility of rape (unless Chas says something himself specific) which will bring in other authorities. A medical social worker will probably deal with the actual questioning once Chas is stable enough physically to answer these questions. Also, most hospitals have very specific procedures for rape. You should be able to find some of these on the web, especially in housestaff handbooks which are intended for new residents to learn the protocol of diffrent departments of the hospital ( ... )

I have not said their exact ages, but nboth of them are definitely over the legal age.

I remember being in a hospital emergency department next to a room marked 'quiet room'. It was a treatment room, and lots of police came and went from it. The patients tended to move on pretty quickly too.

As trackstar says, in a major city, there'd be a policeman on hand who would "Just like to ask a few questions about what happened."

In most places, if the receptive partner is over age and concious, unless he presses charges or claims rape, the police will not arrest the penetrator (espeically if neither of htem say he did it ( ... )

THanks - taht is very helpful. :D He might not be conscious, though, with the amoutn of injuuries there might probably be around.... *pets poor chas* which are the reason he is getting taken to the ER; cause, well, usually he can handle being fucked raw and banged around without any major difficulty.... would they then attempt to arrest Zladko?

I still don't think, even if Chas was unconscious, they could arrest Zladko unless he came in saying, "Help my lover I just assulted/raped him." I would guess the medical staff, unless they knew the two, would assume Zladko was a friend trying to help. They would probably call the police and the police might question Zladko. They could also probably take him in for questioning if they start to suspect he was the one who did it. Or would Zladko be the kind of character to confess out of guilt?

Zladko is thw sort of a guy who comes off as being a grade-A asshole of the possessive sort. Plus, helooks just a wee bit roughed up himself, having had a case of trransformation after being smacked around by a very bad-ass vampire.

thanks for your help :=)
