So I put out the universe that I really wanted a Rottweiler puppy for Christmas.  Within the hour of asking that I was offered a Golden Retriever dog and then 24 hours later a black bull dog.  The universe has a strange way of listening.  Go figure.  

So, I'm scheduled for ankle surgery for Friday.  I have a bad feeling about the whole thing.  Sure, it may take away some pain that I have now.  But it will HURT.  I won't be able to walk on it at all for two weeks and then a month after that I'm still in a cast.  I just am having difficulty seeing the pros here.  I suppose the ankle just doesn't ( Read more... )

I have a deep sense of dread.  Where did it come from?  Will it go away?  What does it say about me to have such dread? 

I think the people who put Prop 8 on the ballot will rue the day they ever thought to propose such a constitutional amendment.  Had they just let it go, gay people would be quietly marrying in California with few people the wiser.  It would not be a big deal and would probably only slowly spread to other states.  But now, with Prop 8 passing, the ( Read more... )

Ok, so I had the fortune of seeing John Stewart live at the University here in Buffalo tonight.  And as he started joking about minorities and the things they go through (as only John Stewart can do and make it seem funny)  I looked around and saw a sea of white people.  There were at least 5000 or more people there and not one single black person ( Read more... )

I just finished filling out an application to work for the Obama - Biden White House.  I realize the odds of actually being accepted to work at the White House are small but to be able to fill out the application - well, that in itself is amazing.  It has sparked many a gleeful fantasies!!!

We have a real President again!!!!  He holds press conferences!!  He can speak in coherent sentences and answer questions without knowing what the questions are ahead of time!!  He knows the names of the press!!  He asks them how they are!!  He has a sense of humor ( Read more... )
