Jacob was so overhyped, I can't even.... I still will never understand putting so much effort trying to sell a character the doesn't end up getting the girl in the end, and never really loved her in the first place, but was meant to end up with the girl's baby.
I think a lot of those early conversations between E/B in the books are over looked. (From what I remember) hardly any made it to the movie, and I think that's one of my biggest problems with the film - they seem to just fall in love. In the books, there was a buildup, anticipation, yes there was attraction and something undeniable but they got to know each other.
yes, exactly! That's my biggest gripe about Twilight. What makes it worse is that Catherine acknowledges this in the commentary and says that this was the biggest complaint about the script (before the movie was finished!) yet she did not fix this. :(
Most overrated quote: I really hate when Edward uses the "brand of heroin" analogy. "You're my own personal brand of heroin." Can't stand that line of dialogue and there's no way it could have been said unawkwardly because it's the worst line written in the series. "You're like a drug to me." is quite enough!
It's funny how THAT line and the lion-lamb line were the most memorable to me when I first read the book, but after reading the meadow scene a couple more times, I'm much more fond of his "I could never hurt you..." bit. And the part where he's listening to her heart! GUH, it still does things to me, but everyone plays up the drugs and masochism. I LIKE SWEET, VULNERABLE!EDWARD.
