In the sentence 「なんと言おうが、俺の自由にさせてもらうぜ」I am having trouble understanding what 「させてもらう」means. Could someone please help?

It's "let me please" - "let me please do as I like", very close to させてください, but もらう means "my receiving your action", so to be more precise it means "I'll have you (I want you to) let me (do as I like)".

So would the sentence mean something along the lines of "No matter what you say, I'm allowed to do as I like" or "No matter what you say, I can do what I want"

Yes, I think that would sum it up.

I read it as much more unilateral than "let me please." "I'm going to do as I please, and (you/they) are going to let me" might be a closer fit to the feel of it.
